Top Story
It has certainly been a busy period for ULI globally last year as it celebrated its 75th Anniversary. The pace of ULI activities will certainly be maintained in 2012. There are already a number of new initiatives, member functions and activities lined up for this year.
Across Asia Pacific, John Fitzgerald continues to lead ULI efforts ably supported by Brandon Sedloff who join earlier this year as Managing Director, Asia Pacific. The key ULI event for 2012 is undoubtedly the ULI Asia Pacific Summit – Shaping Sustainable Urban Growth which will be held on May 16 – 18 in Beijing. Please save the date in your diaries and visit our event website: http://www.uliasiapac2012.org/.
In South Asia, ULI activities have also gained significant momentum since I first wrote to you last July, shortly after I became the Chairman and announced the formation of a regional Executive Committee. The highlight of the past 9 months is the establishment of Country Councils in the Philippines, Australia and Singapore. This newsletter will profile the activities throughout the regional and Country Councils. Finally, I would like to draw your attention to the appointment of Greg Johnson as the new Chairman of the Young Leaders Group in Singapore. We look forward to taking Greg on board for this vital role and we are confident that his energy and leadership will yield great results for the Singapore’s Young Leaders Group.
Finally, I would continue to encourage all members to make sure their membership is current as your support will enable us to provide you relevant programmes, research and etc. The link to ULI’s membership page is http://asia.uli.org/membership/join-or-renew/.
