ULI Names 10 Exceptional Real Estate Projects as Winners of 2023 Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence
Established in 2019, the award recognises projects representing the highest standards and practices in the real estate community.
HONG KONG (2 August 2023) — The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has announced the appointment of Alan Beebe as its new Chief Executive Officer for the Asia Pacific region. Beebe, who most recently served as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China), brings three decades of business experience in the region.
As President of AmCham China from 2016 to 2022, Beebe spearheaded strategic initiatives to foster robust U.S.-China commercial ties and enable foreign corporations, including American Fortune 500 companies, to thrive and prosper in China. He also served as Vice-Chair of the AmChams of the Asia Pacific (AAP), a regional umbrella organization supporting AmChams and American corporations across the dynamic Asia Pacific region. Prior to AmCham China, he held senior executive positions in global consulting firms and companies, advising clients in a diverse range of industries that include manufacturing, real estate, energy, and green technologies.
Beebe joins ULI with immediate effect and will lead ULI Asia Pacific’s strategic growth plan, which includes expanding membership and increasing engagement through a robust set of programs and events; sharing knowledge, and providing education on best practices for equitable and sustainable land use in the region; and driving impact in local communities through ongoing initiatives such as technical assistance panels and UrbanPlan. ULI has more than 48,000 members globally, including more than 3,000 members across key APAC markets – Australia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, and South Korea, as well as recently announced expansions in India and Vietnam.
“Alan’s proven business acumen and decades of leadership in the Asia Pacific region, combined with his understanding of the opportunities and complexities of conducting business in the region, will be invaluable assets to our team,” said Ron Pressman, ULI Global CEO. “As ULI charts a path for further growth and more local engagement in APAC, particularly in vital markets like India, Vietnam, and the Philippines, I am confident that his strategic guidance will only further strengthen our position and enable us to drive profound and lasting impact in the cities and communities we serve.”
“I am honoured to join ULI and eager to work with ULI members and our strong regional team to develop innovative, long-term solutions for cities across the region,” said Alan Beebe, ULI Asia Pacific CEO. “Asia Pacific is urbanising rapidly as countries across the region continue to enjoy economic growth, but its communities also face complex challenges related to climate change, lack of affordable housing, and the need to plan for sustainable growth. At this critical juncture, I am passionate about the vital role ULI APAC is playing in bringing cross-disciplinary experts and stakeholders together to build resilient, sustainable, and thriving cities of the future.”
