Morning Session: Experiential Study Tours
Fire up your curiosity and energy with our specially curated study tours. Choose from any of the three insightful tracks exploring digitalization, innovation, and sustainability, showcasing Singapore’s role as a leader in urban development and environmental stewardship.
Sentosa, where discovery never ends, is Asia’s leading leisure destination and Singapore’s premier island resort getaway. Sentosa is also the first island destination in Asia to have been conferred the Global Sustainable Tourism Council – For Destinations (GSTC-D) certificate.
Participants will be given an overview of the Greater Sentosa Master Plan (GSMP), and tour the newly opened Sentosa Sensoryscape, the first key milestone to be completed. The 30,000 square metre oasis blends nature, design, and technology for an immersive, multi-sensorial journey. Come nightfall, guests are immersed in a nature-inspired nightscape, where interactive digital light art and augmented reality ignite the sixth sense of imagination.
Beyond touring the latest attraction, participants get to visit RISE, a recently-unveiled sustainability showcase that was designed to educate and engage visitors on island sustainability efforts through interactive exhibits, and invites visitors to contribute to a Sustainable Sentosa by embracing environmentally-conscious behaviours as they discover the island’s offerings.
Newly minted as one of twelve winners at the 2024 ULI Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence, the Park is a prime example of landscape transformation, ecological regeneration and heritage conservation. The 66-ha nature park – located at the former Sin Seng Quarry – plays a key role towards National Parks Board’s (“NParks”) vision to transform Singapore into a City in Nature.
This study tour led by NParks will provide an overview of the research, design, programme implementation, habitat restoration, sustainability efforts and nature play garden principles that aim to create important habitats for our biodiversity and allow park visitors to experience nature at its best.
This study tour explores the regeneration of city centres through thoughtful conservation, innovative placemaking, and strategic mixed-use development. Guided by URA and Guocoland, attendees will understand how these elements collectively activate and enrich urban spaces, revitalising the Beach Road and Bugis districts.
At Kampong Glam, participants will get to engage with the local shop owners and stakeholders on how the precinct has transformed into a vibrant destination for social and cultural interaction, and community engagement. Over at Guoco Midtown, the vibrant live-work-play offering is one of the development’s key highlights that brings together culture, entertainment and lifestyle, making for a commercially sustainable and lasting destination catering for every demographic
