    We are pleased to invite you to the by ULI Japan ESG x Proptech Annual Series Event 2 of 3 on July 6 at GoldenEgg in Shibuya. Join us for the second event in this series, for an afternoon of sessions led by innovative proptech companies based both in Japan and internationally, after the successful launch of event one of this series in March. A series of talks and panel discussions will be followed by drinks and food, to continue the discussion and networking, see below for program details.
     
    ULI Japan proudly provides forums to foster engagement among local and international real estate professionals of all career stages and backgrounds. Join us for this event diving into the cutting edge of proptech in Japan, followed by open networking to build and expand your network in this growing field.

    Shoji Tanaka

    President and Representative Director, gigbase Inc.

    Shoji Tanaka joined Gigbase as a director in 2011 and in 2012 was appointed as a representative director of the company, managing "Gigbase," Japan's largest gig work platform for real estate companies. While a student at Hosei University, Tanaka won an award for excellence in the Tokyo Metropolitan Student Entrepreneur Championship. He also participated in the establishment of BeGood Japan, a real estate company specializing in "room-sharing" and "international students." Tanaka was born in Sendagi, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, and comes from a family of "Kagumi" firefighters in Edo.

    Kohei Nishiwada

    Co-Founder, CEO, Asuene Inc.

    Kohei Nishiwada founded Asuene Inc. in 2019 to create a better world for future generations. Asuene developed solutions like Asuzero, a cloud service for CO2 emission visualization and reduction; ECR, an ESG evaluation cloud service; and Carbon EX, a carbon credit exchange market. Asuene has received the Forbes Japan Rising Star Award, the 2022 Minister's Award for Environmental Startups from the Ministry of the Environment, and has been recognized as a J-Startup by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Nishiwada worked for Mitsui & Co in Japan, Europe, and Latin America on new business investments and M&As of renewable energy. While on overseas assignment in Brazil, he was seconded to a distributed power supply company, invested in a Brazilian distributed solar retail venture, won a Mexican solar bidding order, and formed a Japanese solar fund. Nishiwada graduated from Keio University.

    Takuya Togashi

    Chief Operating Officer, CoLife Co., Ltd.

    Takuya Togashi joined CoLife in 2015 as an executive officer. In 2021, Togashi was appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO), responsible for overseeing the Platform Division and driving the business growth of the company. After graduating from Keio University, Togashi worked for a major advertising agency where he served as an account director, in charge of residential clients and advertising promotions. Additionally, he contributed to clients' businesses by creating new services and developing content.

    Senior Manager, Pembroke

    Working for Pembroke Real Estate Japan office as Senior Manager. Initiate, plan and execute leasing, sale and marketing strategies and branding for development projects and existing operating properties. Leading the development and implementation of leasing, sale and marketing initiatives, including marketing collateral, advertising, PR and events. Experience in managing external property management teams for office and residential properties. In addition, supports corporate marketing communications, primarily focused on Japanese initiatives. Prior to joining Pembroke, worked for a brand/marketing consulting firm based in London where he was responsible for global projects in various industries and oversaw international resources including architects, designers, public relations and writers. Bringing experience in account management, brand and marketing strategy.

    Shin Yamamoto

    General Manager of Corporate Strategy Department, Kenedix, Inc.

    Shin Yamamoto joined Kenedix in 2015 after having worked for a real estate fund company. Since 2023, Yamamoto has been responsible for new business planning, including the promotion of Digital Transformation (DX) and investment in startup companies, in the Corporate Planning Department.

    Justin Liang

    CEO/Co-Founder, Inspace XR

    Justin Liang is the CEO of Inspace, a technology company that provides an integrated platform for real estate landlords to virtually lease, market and manage their properties. Inspace’s platform has virtualized over 60 billion AUS dollars of real estate across 10 countries including the US, Japan and Singapore, and is used by many of the industry’s largest firms such as CBRE, PGIM, Blackstone, M&G, Dexus. Before founding Inspace, Liang worked as a venture capital investor at Australia's AMP, specializing in virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Since 2020, Liang has been featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 list, and Inspace has been featured regularly in press outlets such as Sky News, the AFR and TechInAsia.

    Satoshi Murakami

    Director, Head of APAC, MetaProp Ventures

    Satoshi Murakami serves as Director of MetaProp’s Asia Pacific business where he leads regional operations and presence from our Tokyo office. In addition, Satoshi leads regional community efforts to connect MetaProp’s APAC-based limited partners and founders to each other and the global PropTech ecosystem. Prior to joining MetaProp, Satoshi led the development of the real estate business for Sumitomo Corporation, one of the largest conglomerates in Japan, where he built the organization’s entire asset cycle from real estate acquisition to disposition. In 2018, he was transferred to the United States where he steered the business’ venture capital arm to efficiently discover, invest, and partner with prominent startups and simultaneously scaling the strategy across the country. In this capacity, Satoshi led the research, due diligence, and execution of investments across the technology landscape, identifying synergies for Sumitomo’s core business lines from the portfolio.

    James Harvey

    Head of Pursuit Management & PropTech Solutions, CBRE K.K.

    James Harvey joined CBRE in 2017 where he leveraged his multidisciplinary skillset to establish Pursuit Management, a new sales and marketing support function. He successfully established new teams in Japan, Singapore and China, while leading the Pursuit function for CBRE’s Advisory business in Asia. Harvey recently took the initiative to establish PropTech Solutions in Japan and he is co-lead of the company’s new AI Task Force. His current focus is on digital enablement, change management and strategic innovation, and he strongly advocates for the learning economy. Harvey started his career in CRE with PropTech in the UK before moving to Italy and then Japan. He has spent the last two decades in consulting, sales, marketing, proposal management and tech-related roles, living and working in five of Japan's biggest cities and involved in business development across APAC.
