Last year Treasury economists reported that on returning to the workforce, mothers took a significant financial hit due to reduced work hours and leave taken.

On average they were returning to 55% of their pre-birth income, with the gap barely changing over the first five years of the baby’s life and correcting after a decade.

Although there has generally been an increase in access to quality childcare, paid parental leave and workplace flexibility, there is no denying that parenthood requires sacrifices and still carries a stigma in some workplaces.

Join us as we discuss how to maintain and grow your career with an experienced panel of parents and leaders in the property industry.

    Andy Johnston

    Director, Urbis

Andy has been a Director at Urbis for the last year after being invited to take on the challenge of starting up their Transport Advisory business in Queensland. Andy leads Urbis’ delivery of transport projects in Queensland and northern Australia and within the last 12 months, has grown the team from just himself to 9 transport professionals. He is an industry leading expert in traffic and transport with over 20 years’ experience in the provision of transport planning and traffic engineering advice to both public and private sector clients and has worked for a range of leading multi-disciplinary engineering companies such as Cardno, AECOM and WSP. Andy plays a hands-on role in the management and delivery of both traffic and transport projects. His skills include master planning, design advice, traffic impact assessments, active transport planning, due diligence, site selection, parking studies, delivery of complex modelling assessments and a range of other studies and skills. A key driver for Andy is solving the traffic and transport issues for clients and unlocking a practical and relatable solution on complex sites.
