    Daniel Klebes

    Partner, Head of Japan, BentallGreenOak

    Dan Klebes is a Managing Partner and Head of Japan at BentallGreenOak, based in Tokyo. Dan is Representative Director of GreenOak Investment Management K.K. Dan has over 30 years of experience in the Japanese real estate market, as an investor and investment banker. Prior to joining GreenOak, a BentallGreenOak predecessor firm, Dan founded and led GTO Capital Management, an investment firm where he advised and co-invested with clients in the United States and Japan. Previously, as Chief Investment Officer for Japan for Aetos Capital Asia, he led a Tokyo-based real estate team of over 100 professionals and grew assets under management by over $6 billion. Klebes started his career in 1987 at Goldman Sachs and spent 10 years as a real estate investment banker in Tokyo and New York. In 1997, he founded Goldman Sachs’ Japanese Real Estate Principal Investment Area, where he led the acquisition of over $5 billion of Japanese real estate-related investments and helped build Goldman’s property investment and asset management operations from startup to over 200 professionals. Dan holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a master’s degree in East Asian Studies from Stanford University. He has lived in Japan for more than 15 years and is fluent in Japanese.

    Laurent Jacquemin

    Head of Asia-Pacific, AXA IM Real Assets, Japan, AXA IM Alts

    Laurent has over 22 years of experience in the Real Estate industry. In January 2018 he was appointed Head of Asia-Pacific, in charge of all the operations (investments and capital raising) for AXA IM Real Assets in the region, based in Tokyo. Laurent is a member of the AXA IM Real Assets’ Management Board. Until the end of 2017, Laurent was European Head of Transactions, coordinating and executing deals for AXA IM Real Assets' clients across Europe. Prior to that Laurent was Global Head of Corporate Finance; his responsibilities included new product structuring, property finance and managing complex transactions. Between 2006 and 2010 he was Head of Corporate Finance UK based in London. Laurent joined AXA IM Real Assets in 2001 as Corporate Finance Manager in Paris. He started his career at Ernst & Young working both in Paris and Brussels. Laurent graduated with a French Business School degree.

    Fred Uruma

    Chairman and CEO, Touchstone Capital Management Co., Ltd.

    Uruma began his career at KPMG Peat Marwick in Los Angeles in M&A and real estate consulting. He then established MTM Consulting to focus on cross-border real estate consulting services for Japanese and U.S. clients. Uruma joined Secured Capital Corporation in 1997 and founded Secured Capital Japan (previously listed on the TSE First Section), serving as its first President and CEO. Uruma founded Touchstone Investment Management in 2002 and became the President and CEO of Touchstone Capital Securities in 2005. Uruma has been involved in real estate transactions totaling over US$10 billion throughout his career. Uruma holds degrees in Finance and Accounting from Loma Linda University (California). Uruma was appointed Chairman of the Securitization and Alternative Business Council of the Japan Securities Dealers Association for two consecutive terms. He is also a executive counsel committee member of ULI Japan, a frequent speaker at international conferences and a guest lecturer at universities.

    Nick Okumura

    Co-Chief Investment Officer, Asia Pacific, LaSalle Investment Management K.K.

    Kunihiko ‘’Nick’’ Okumura was appointed Co-CIO for LaSalle in Asia Pacific in January 2021. He joined the firm in 2011 and most recently was Head of Acquisitions and Asset Management in Japan, a role he continues to cover. He has over 23 years of Japanese real estate experience and completed over US$15 billion of debt and equity transactions across multiple asset classes. Prior to joining LaSalle, Nick served as Principal at Westbrook Partners and Senior Vice President of the Global Real Estate Group at Lehman Brothers. During his tenure at Lehman Brothers, he executed various types of real estate deals including office, residential, hotel, retail, industrial and development, and completed multiple CMBS transactions. Nick holds an MA in International Studies from the University of Washington and a BA in English from Kwansei Gakuin University.
