    The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Singapore Steering Committee is pleased to announce a speaker series in honour of International Women’s Day (IWD) featuring Maya Hari, CEO of Terrascope (an end-to-end decarbonisation SaaS platform) and former head of Twitter’s Global Strategy and Operations, and Teo Hwee Ping, Head of Legal and Company Secretary at Singapore Land Group Limited. The event will be moderated by a member of the WLI Singapore Steering Committee, Nayan Parekh, global leader of Work Sector at Gensler.
     
    Join us for a thought provoking and open dialogue where we will explore Maya’s and Hwee Ping’s career journeys, and delve into themes which have been central to both of their professional experiences. They will touch on:
    • How to balance personal and professional commitments.
    • Navigating physical relocation in the context of their careers.
    • How their leadership style/approach has evolved after being in cross-functional roles across a multitude of industries.
    • Leaning into positions of authority and acknowledging privilege as a woman.
    • Leaning out of traditional working methods and embracing the flexibility of remote work.
    • The importance and benefits of bringing women into the boardroom, and the consequent impact on decision making.

    Hwee Ping Teo

    Head of Legal / Company Secretary, Singapore Land Group

    Hwee Ping is responsible for the legal, corporate secretarial and compliance functions of the Group, and is also its Data Protection Officer. Prior to her current role, she was SingLand’s Assistant Company Secretary. She built her experience in dispute resolution when she practised as a litigation lawyer and also in her role as business development director at an international maritime arbitration centre. Hwee Ping is actively involved in the Group’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and is passionate about advancing women empowerment, gender equality and sustainability. Hwee Ping holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law (Second Class Upper Honours) from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK.

    CEO, Terrascope

    Maya Hari, CEO of Terrascope, is a seasoned executive with a two-decade career spanning mobile, consumer, and social businesses at Twitter, Google, Microsoft, and Cisco. She has led digital transformation at Samsung and Conde Nast, combining her passion for technology and sustainability at Terrascope. During her seven years at Twitter, Maya held various roles, including VP of Global Strategy and Managing Director of Twitter's Asia Pacific business. With experience managing diverse teams across the US, France, India, and Singapore, Maya has deep expertise in scaling businesses globally, particularly in key markets such as the US, China, Latin America, India, and Southeast Asia. An avid angel investor in technology and sustainability, Maya is actively involved in the ecosystem through networks such as XA, TiE, and YPO.

    Global Work Sector Leader, Principal, Gensler

    Nayan Parekh co-leads Gensler's Global Work Sector. She is an Architect and Sociologist by training and brings two decades of experience in shaping the future of work for clients around the world. Her passion lies in interdisciplinary design that places users at the centre and drives tangible business value. With a Global perspective cultivated through her work with clients in India, London and Singapore, Nayan has successfully led transformational projects across Asia, the U.K., and continental Europe. Her work spans diverse sectors, including education, life sciences and the workplace, making her a true visionary in design.
