POSITION SUMMARY:
ULI Hong Kong is seeking to recruit a full-time Senior Manager to lead the Institute’s continuous growth and development in Hong Kong. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
- Plan and assist in executing the strategies for growing ULI’s brand, programme of work, membership, sponsorship, events, and community outreach in Hong Kong.
- Work with ULI Hong Kong leadership and the ULI Asia Pacific team to implement ULI Hong Kong’s strategic plan to define priorities, programme objectives, and outcomes as well as methods to measure success in achieving said objectives and outcomes.
Governance and Leadership Support
- Oversee the operations of ULI Hong Kong with guidance and support from the local council chair and executive committee. Organise committee meetings; oversee and manage various local council subcommittees; and facilitate successful planning for various committees and leadership posts in accordance with the local council governance.
- Develop relationships with chair and members, as well as staff, to build the capacity and improve performance of the local council.
- Raise awareness of the council’s performance in the Asia Pacific region with senior members, the ULI Asia Pacific Executive Committee, and trustees.
Programming and Mission Support
- Plan and deliver ULI Hong Kong’s programme of work, including but not limited to:
- Programmes and events that align with the ULI mission for members in Hong Kong, as prioritised by the ULI Hong Kong Executive Committee.
- Member networks: Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), Young Leaders Group (YLG), NEXT, and product councils.
- UrbanPlan / Local Technical Advisory Panels (TAPs) / ULI Learning.
- Proactively develop content relevant to the members and the wider real estate community in Hong Kong and beyond that help shape the built environment for transformative impact.
- Develop and maintain key external strategic alliances with other local professional associations, academic institutions, the public sector, and nonprofit organisations.
Membership and Sponsorship
- Actively support the ULI HK consultant and ULI Hong Kong Executive Committee to manage the sponsor recruitment and retention programme.
- In partnership with the Asia Pacific team, develop and execute a comprehensive membership programme to retain existing members, encourage upgrades to full membership, and recruit new members, through a local programme of work that is relevant to members in Hong Kong.
- In partnership with the Asia Pacific team, cultivate new corporate members and sponsors for the Asia Pacific region.
Finance, Marketing, Operations
- Develop and deliver the budget, and manage the finances of the local council in consultation with the President of ULI Asia Pacific, ULI Hong Kong Chair, and ULI HK consultant.
- Develop and execute a marketing and communication strategy for ULI Hong Kong with support from the Asia Pacific marketing team and the global marketing and communications team.
- Direct and execute the operations of the local council, including logistics, sourcing, and supervision of any third-party contractors and partners.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- 10+ years of work experience in the private, government, or nonprofit sector. Experience with Asia Pacific real estate and/or urban planning industries will be an advantage.
- Entrepreneurial and creative management executive who is adept at strategic and day-today matters.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with a proven track record of corporate relationship management and business development.
- Strong commercial acumen and critical thinking skills with experience in strategic planning and execution of sound business plans, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in the oversight, preparation, and monitoring of annual budget and financial statements; fiscally responsible.
- Proven ability to work in a global environment and across a global organisation.
- Digital savvy and proficient in tools including Excel and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher degree in real estate, business, or related field.
