Otemachi One is the largest mixed-use development located in the Otemachi district of Tokyo.

The project comprises two towers that bring together a variety of functions, including offices, retail, event halls, a Four Seasons Hotel, and new public space, all situated at the edge of the Imperial Palace in the heart of the city.

The development features two towers of differing heights. The shorter tower, standing at 160 meters, serves as the headquarters for one of Japan’s largest trading companies. This tower is designed to harmonise with the historic structures surrounding the Imperial Palace, incorporating design elements inspired by traditional Japanese joinery and woodworking techniques.

The taller tower, rising 200 meters, embodies a more contemporary aesthetic with a facade of glass and steel, housing additional office space and the Four Seasons Hotel at the top.

Both towers are designed with sustainable features, such as cavity walls and ventilated mullions, which help to improve air circulation and energy efficiency. The buildings also incorporate the most advanced seismic damping structures to ensure the highest standards of safety and security.

Otemachi One offers a range of public amenities, including a basement-level commercial corridor with retail and dining options, as well as a direct connection to the Tokyo Metro. At ground level, a new 6,000-square-meter garden is one of the largest green spaces in the area, featuring a reflecting pool, native plants, and accommodating outdoor programming. The design also preserves the site of Masakado’s Shrine, seamlessly integrating the historical monument within the new park.

Otemachi One’s strategic location at the edge of the Imperial Palace, combined with its mix of modern and traditional architectural elements, highlights Tokyo’s rich history while also signaling the city’s position as a global leader in technology and innovation. The development’s sustainable design, public amenities, and integration of historical elements contribute to its role as a prominent and impactful addition to the Otemachi district.
