About the Speaker
|Simon Treacy, Managing Director, is the Global Chief Investment Officer and Head of US Equity for BlackRock’s Real Estate Platform. In this New York based role Mr. Treacy is responsible for the overall investment strategy and performance of real estate portfolios globally, as well as overseeing all of BlackRock’s advised real estate funds and investment vehicles.
Mr. Treacy’s service with the firm dates back to 2004, including his years with MGPA, which was acquired by BlackRock in 2013. Simon Treacy was a founding shareholder and Director of MGPA and its Asia CEO before becoming Group CEO in 2010. Prior to joining MGPA, he worked with the Lend Lease Group in various investment management roles across financial services, infrastructure and real estate investment. Simon has 19 years of experience in real estate across the US,Asia and Europe. Simon moved from Australia to Asia in 1996 and has lived in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan and China before relocating to US in 2013.
Mr. Treacy has a BComm. degree from Griffith University, Brisbane in Australia. He is a Global Trustee for Urban Land Institute (ULI) and Immediate Past Chairman of ULI for South Asia.
