With a 2,000 year history as a maritime gateway to Vietnam, this 2,200 square kilometer SAEZ is one of the largest in the world and certainly one of the most aspirational. Composed of 600 islands near Ha Long Bay and close to the China border, thirty islands of Van Don are slated for tourism development plus one large island for mixed use development, including a new international airport, aircity duty free zone, high tech business park, creative services village, and international finance \ world trade center. The master plan for 45,000 ha. of developable land and a 2050 population of 1 million people was recently completed with a focus on ‘investability.’
This 15-minute ULI webinar will be presented by Diane Legg, Vice President, CallisonRTKL and she will review the key components of the Van Don SAEZ, the challenges of implementation, and the opportunities for investment.
