Jun Aoki spent over 11 years as an architect designing various public facilities such as art museums and sports facilities. After having been involved in the designs for Makuhari Messe and the Yerba Buena Art Center in San Francisco, he started working with McKinsey & Company. After this he worked for BNP Paribas, the insurance subsidiary of a French Bank Group, working as the Chief International HR officer, creating the company's Japanese branch. After working as the CEO for 12 years, he utilised his experience and made a new international HR division at the headquarters in Paris which was more strategic and designed to be closer to the local businesses of each region.
in November 2014 he entered Shiseido as a Chief People Officer (Global HR Manager), and led a revolution of the company with president Masahiko Uotani, the first president to be called from outside the company since its foundation. They have focused on making Shiseido a global player while utilizing its Japanese heritage its strength.
Jun Aoki graduated from Tokyo University's Faculty of Engineering in 1980.
