ULI NEXT SG: Urban Hike Challenge (POSTPONED)

When

2021-05-01 - 2021-05-31
We live in a garden city, full of places to escape the built environment and enjoy the biodiversity that Singapore’s forests have to offer.

To encourage active exploration and set new challenges for those seeking a break from the conventional – ULI NEXT would like to arrange small groups of likeminded people, an opportunity to put down their smartphones and set a tough challenge.

CHALLENGE A: To walk North to South, along a route covering approximately 35 km, starting in Woodlands, ending with sandy toes on the beach in Sentosa. The aim would be to start early (think 5.30am!) and be finished by early afternoon.

CHALLENGE B: To walk East to West along the Southern Ridges, a much shorter (8 km) albeit hillier route, starting at the base of Mount Faber, over the Henderson Waves, strolling past Gillman Barracks, and ending with a cool sea breeze at Labrador Park. Easily completed in 2-3 hours, in morning or afternoon.

RSVP details
  • Please email an RSVP by May 7th and indicate which challenge you want to participate in (Challenge A being much more arduous than Challenge B).
  • Small groups (max 8 pax) will then be formed, led by a NEXT Committee member. The group will then determine a date in May that works for everyone.
  • Don't hesitate to reach out to Tim Graham or Charles Griffith if you have any questions about these urban hikes.
