ULI Singapore's WLI (Women's Leadership Initiative) is excited to invite you to exclusive dinners with some of the most dynamic and influential women real estate leaders in Singapore. Enjoy dinner and drinks with your peers and two established woman executives willing to share their insights, professional experience, and personal anecdotes in a casual setting. To help foster an intimate experience and adhere to current social distancing safeguards, only 3 ULI women members may attend each of these dinners.

The dinners will be hosted and paid for by these women leaders, as their way of paying it forward to ULI women members. It is also their way of supporting our local F&B sector. Due to limited spaces, we encourage you to register early for one of these dinner sessions. Registration is only open to ULI women members and is non-transferrable.

Hsueh Ling Ng

Managing Director, Singapore and Chairman, Lendlease Global Commercial Trust Management, Lendlease Asia Holdings Pte Ltd

Hsueh Ling joined Lendlease as the Managing Director, Singapore and Chief Investment Officer, Asia in August 2017. In this role, she is responsible for driving the growth of our Singapore business as well as the Asia Investment Management business. She has 28 years of real estate experience across Asia in strategic sourcing, investment and divestment, asset and portfolio management, as well as the development of assets. She also has extensive fund management experience in the areas of real estate fund product creation, deal origination, distribution and structuring of real estate-based financial products. Hsueh Ling joined Lendlease from Keppel REIT Management Limited, where she was the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director for about eight years. In this role, she played an instrumental role in growing the Assets Under Management, opening new markets and leading the team to deliver steady and sustainable returns to Unitholders by proactively optimising, enhancing, realigning and transforming the portfolio. Prior to that, she was the Chief Executive Officer (Korea and Japan) of Ascendas Limited. In this role, she grew the portfolio of private funds across various asset classes across Asia. She has previously held senior positions at CapitaLand Commercial Ltd and CapitaLand Financial Ltd. Hsueh Ling holds a Bachelor of Science, Estate Management from the National University of Singapore.

Choon Fah Ong

Chief Executive Officer, EDMUND TIE

With more than 25 years’ experience in real estate and academia, Ong Choon Fah heads the executive leadership team for Edmund Tie & Company in her role as CEO. On top of strategy and management, her vision is to create a firm that is committed to industry-leading real estate consultancy that adheres to the highest ethical principles, supporting the community for long-term sustainability. Choon Fah’s broad expertise in research and consulting in Singapore and beyond, in conjunction with her wide-ranging experience across commercial, government and non-profit organisations, give her an excellent overview of the industry. Choon Fah is the Chair of Singapore for the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and a member of the APAC Executive Committee, Honorary Real Estate Consultancy Advisor to the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS), and member of the Council for Real Estate Agencies’ (CEA) Professional Development Committee. She is also a licensed valuer and salesperson, Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (FSISV). Beyond real estate, Choon Fah’s wide-ranging interests include the arts, education and lifelong learning. She sits on the management board of the National University of Singapore Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies (NUS IREUS) and is a life member of the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Shin Hui Tan

Executive Director, Park Hotel Group

Tan Shin Hui is the Executive Director of the Park Hotel Group (PHG). Prior to joining PHG in 2009, she spent 4 years in finance and private equity. At PHG, Shin Hui is responsible for leading the commercial and brand strategy of the organisation. In this capacity, she drives commercial excellence across PHG’s sales, revenue management, marketing communications & digital infrastructure. Her priorities include optimising hotel performance through effective pricing, inventory, segmentation and distribution strategies. She also oversees the development of the brands within PHG’s portfolio – Grand Park, Park Hotel, Destination as well as Park Rewards loyalty programme – to support the organisation’s growth and expansion globally. Shin Hui is also a key member of the Investment Committee that oversees M&A and asset enhancement strategies.

Magdelene Chua

Real Estate Partner and Assurance Transformation Leader, PwC

Magdelene is a Partner with PwC Singapore’s Assurance practice and she has been providing assurance services to multinational clients and advisory services in cross-border transactions across US, UK, Europe, China, Australia and Japan. Previously, she has spent four years with the Global Capital Markets Group (including two years tour of duty to the London office). Her main focus is on the real estate industry and her key clients include real estate developers, real estate investors, funds and hotels. Throughout her professional career, she has accumulated specific experience in IPOs, M&A transactions, IFRS conversions, accounting advisory projects and post-deal implementation, on top of her experience in assurance. Magdelene is also active in the real estate space outside of PwC and actively participates in roles within other real estate organisations.

Wanshi Zheng

Group Chief Strategy & Planning Officer, Frasers Property Limited

Ms Zheng is responsible for the development and integration of Frasers Property Group strategy and its execution across the company’s diverse businesses and markets it operates in, while working in collaboration with the senior leadership team. In her role, Ms Zheng also oversees the Capital Allocation, Planning, Research, Strategic Communications and Branding, and Strategic Innovation functions. Prior to joining the Group on 8 February 2018, Ms Zheng held positions including Head of Investment Management at CapitaLand Limited, Director (Multi-asset Class Research) at Mount Kellett Capital (Hong Kong) Limited, and Vice President (Distressed Products Group/ Strategic Investment Group) at Deutsche Bank AG. Ms Zheng holds a double degree from the University of Pennsylvania, USA where she graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Concentration in Finance, and from the College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She serves as a Member of the Investment Committee at The National Kidney Foundation Singapore, which is a non-profit health organisation in Singapore.

Pauline Goh

Chairman Southeast Asia, CBRE Pte Ltd

As Chairman of Southeast Asia, Pauline’s focus is on nurturing and growing strategic client accounts across the region. Prior to that, she was Managing Director, Singapore from 2005 and CEO, Singapore and Southeast Asia from 2010. During her tenure as CEO, Singapore was the growth engine of CBRE in Southeast Asia, growing at a compounded 35% pa from 2014-2018. Pauline was also responsible for CBRE’s wholly-owned offices in Thailand and Vietnam, joint venture in Malaysia, alliances in Indonesia and Philippines, and affiliate in Cambodia. Over the years, Pauline has steadily built the CBRE brand into the leading real estate services firm in Southeast Asia. Singapore’s Advisory & Transactions Office Leasing team is recognized as one of the strongest in Asia, achieving the highest turnover of leasing deals in the past few decades and representing leading property developers in iconic Grade A office buildings including Frasers Tower and CapitaGreen in the CBD; Marina One, Marina Bay Financial Centre and One Raffles Quay in the Marina Bay Downtown; as well as city fringe developments such as DUO Tower, Paya Lebar Quarter and The Metropolis. Under her stewardship, the Capital Markets team has also earned a solid reputation, having inked many record-breaking deals including the largest independent private property transactions to-date - the sale of 8 Shenton Way by CapitaLand to Macquarie Global Property Advisors (MGPA) for S$1.039 billion; and the sale of TripleOne Somerset by Singapore Power and Public Utilities Board to a fund managed by Pacific Star for S$1.01b. More recent landmark deals include the sale of Asia Square Tower 1 by BlackRock to Qatar Investment Authority for S$3.38b in 2016 and the sale of Asia Square Tower 2 by BlackRock to CapitaLand Commercial Trust for S$2.09b in 2017.

Esther An

Chief Sustainability Officer, City Developments Limited

An active advocate for sustainability for over two decades, Esther has been instrumental in establishing CDL’s leadership in integrating ESG best practices into its business. CDL is ranked top real estate company on the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World 2020 and is also the only CDP A-List company for climate strategy and water security in SE Asia. Key ESG initiatives she has spearheaded include publishing the first sustainability report using GRI standards in Singapore in 2008; issuing the first green bond by a Singaporean company in 2017 and pioneering an SDG Innovation Loan in Singapore in 2019. As a forerunner in embracing the UN SDGs, Esther was conferred 2018 SDG Pioneer for Green Infrastructure and A Low Carbon Economy by the UN Global Compact. She sits on the boards or advisory platforms of several organisations including the World Green Building Council, Singapore Green Building Council, UNEP Finance Initiative Property Work Group, GRI Corporate Leadership Group, Asia Pacific Real Estate Association Singapore Chapter Board, Global Compact Network Singapore and Urban Land Institute Singapore Chapter. An advocate for women empowerment, Esther founded the Women4Green Network to engage women to drive sustainable practices at home, at work and at play.

Yu-Ning Hwang

Chief Planner & Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Urban Redevelopment Authority

Yu-Ning is the Chief Planner, a role in which she oversees the urban planning of Singapore. She is with the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Singapore’s land use planning and conservation authority. Yu-Ning has held various appointments in the public sector including with the URA, the Strategy Group of Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Ministry of National Development. She is a global governing trustee with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and co-chairs ULI Singapore’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. She also serves as an executive committee member on ULI Singapore’s National Council. She is on the Singapore Science Centre Board and the IJ Board of Management. Yu-Ning studied architecture at the National University of Singapore and public policy & urban planning at Harvard University.

Angela Lee

Managing Director, Asia Pacific, HKS

With several doctors in the family, Angela has always been comfortable in healthcare settings. When she decided on architecture as a profession, healthcare design seemed the obvious path. She knows that successful design is the result of the harmonious relationship and balance between the patient and user experience, form and function, budget and schedule, sustainability and sound business principles. As managing director of Southeast Asia, Angela has 22 years of healthcare planning experience and participating in the design and planning of over 1.1 million square meters of healthcare projects worldwide. Her projects have been honored with design awards from both the AIA and Modern Healthcare. She has been recognized in publications such as Healthcare Design, Health Facilities Management, Healthcare Design Ideas and Medical Construction and Design.

Nina Yang

CEO, SJ CityGlobal, Surbana Jurong Consultants Pte. Ltd.

Ms Nina YANG is the Chief Executive Officer of SJ CityGlobal from 2019. Prior to joining Surbana Jurong, Ms Yang was Ascendas-Singbridge’s (ASB) Chief Executive Officer for Sustainable Urban Development, responsible for managing ASB’s investment in urbanization projects and master developments overseas. The notable projects were the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, Sino-Singapore Chengdu Innovation Park, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City and the Amaravati Capital City. Before ASB, Ms Yang spent 25 years with CPG Consultants practising urban planning and architecture, as well as water-sensitive urban design. She was involved with various projects across cities in China, India, Middle East, Vietnam and Myanmar. She led a consortium to assist the Myanmar government in the economic positioning, master planning and investment promotion of the Kyauk Phyu Deep Sea Port and Special Economic Zone. She was also based in China for two years to set up offices in Shanghai and Suzhou. Ms Yang graduated from Harvard University with a Master in Design Studies in Real Estate Finance and Urban Development. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the National University of Singapore. She is a registered architect with Board of Architects Singapore and a member of the Singapore Institute of Planners.

Mireille Wan

Head of SEA (Corporate Consulting) and Joint APAC Head (Portfolio Strategy), JLL

Mireille is the Head of SEA (Corporate Consulting) involved in projects relating to Workplace Strategy and Change Management where there is an increasing demand for a more agile way of collaborating within the office. Corporate clients embark on this new way of working to optimise the efficient use of real estate; create engaging workplaces to attract and secure the right talent; and implement sustainable workplace change. Mireille is also the Joint APAC Head (Portfolio Strategy) helping corporate clients to match their business goals with their real estate portfolio in order to achieve the desired outcomes. Such outcomes would be optimising the real estate footprint and attendant costs, thereby mitigating risks. Mireille has worked in the real estate markets – both private and public sectors - in Singapore, South East Asia, China and Australia, covering a wide range of property asset classes. The conventional asset classes include luxury residential, prime office and retail; industrial and logistics. Moreover, her coverage of the alternatives sector includes hospitality (hotels and serviced apartments), recreational (cinemas, bowling alleys, theme parks, golf and country clubs, private farms and marinas), education (international school) and medical (private hospitals, medical centres and nursing homes).

WeiLeng Tang

Managing Director, Singapore, Colliers

As the managing director of Colliers International, Ms. Tang spearheads the company’s growth strategy in Singapore, with a strong focus on client service through the delivery of customised solutions to accelerate client success. An exceptional leader of great entrepreneurial spirit, Ms Tang possesses strong capital markets expertise and proven track records.
